Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office is investigating the theft of multiple firearms and a large amount of ammunition from a home near Lake Zumbro.

Sheriff's Captain James Schueller says five guns and approximately 1300 rounds of ammunition were discovered missing from a residence in the 12000 block of Oak Lodge Lane Northeast in Oronoco Township on Thursday. It's believed the thefts occurred sometime between 6:45 AM and 3:30 PM. Captain Schueller says investigators did not detect any signs of forced entry.


The missing firearms are two shotguns, two rifles, and a 9 mm handgun worth about $2800. Schueller says the handgun was stored in a safe, while the rifles and shotguns were under a bed in the residence.
