Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A high-speed chase through Rochester ended in an injury crash near Chatfield Thursday evening.

The State Patrol says the pursuit began when a trooper responded to a complaint about a motorist on Highway 62 near 65th Street in northwest Rochester and stopped the vehicle along the southbound lanes of Highway 52 at the Civic Center Drive interchange. While the trooper was gathering information from the driver, he sped away and then refused to stop for the pursuing trooper.

The chase continued south on Highway 52 until the driver, identified as 34-year-old Lahai Kamara of Harmony, lost control on a curve about 5 miles south of Chatfield just before 8:45 PM.  The State Patrol says the pickup went into the ditch and then struck a culvert.

Kamara was then transported to St. Marys Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The State Patrol report indicates alcohol was involved in the incident.
