If you have tickets to see the President at the Mayo Civic Center on Thursday evening, there's something you should know. You might not get in. A press release sent out by the City of Rochester explains that more tickets have been distributed by the White House than space available. So having a ticket does not guarantee admittance. Get there early if you want to see the President in person. Once the main arena is full, those with tickets will be invited to an "overflow" area to watch on a screen. No one else will be admitted once those areas are at capacity.

Yesterday the City of Rochester also released a plan for the President's visit which will impact several downtown streets, parking, walking trails, and the airport. City Administrator Steve Rymer said, “Safety of the President, local residents, businesses, and visitors is our top priority. We expect the heaviest traffic to occur between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., and recognize the downtown corridor will be busy throughout the day on Thursday. We thank and ask everyone for their patience and understanding of the extraordinary activities of the day.” See how everything will be impacted here.
