Health Care Reform and Obamacare Flap on Rochester Today
The flap over a MIT economist's remarks about ObamaCare prompted a lot of calls to the Rochester Today show with Tom Ostrom and Andy Brownell Tuesday morning on KROC-AM.
President Obama and other prominent Democrats have been taking pains to distance themselves from Jonathan Gruber, who has created quite a stir with his videotaped comments about the creation of the Affordable Care Act. Gruber, who was among the consultants brought in by the White House to help craft legislation, has said it was purposely written in a way meant to mislead the American public. In one video clip, he even refers to the "stupidity of the American voters."
A discussion on Gruber's statements and the response of ObamaCare supporters led to a wider conversation about health care reform and the single-payer systems used by Canada and Great Britain.
