Heather Holmes Launches Bid for Rochester City Council Seat
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester businesswoman is launching a campaign for a seat on the Rochester City Council. Heather Holmes has scheduled a campaign kick-off event this afternoon to officially announce her candidacy for the First Ward seat now held by Ed Hruska, who has indicated he does not intend to run for re-election after representing the southern area of the city for several years in the 1990s before returning to the council in 2005.
Holmes operates a local marketing firm and manages to the Journey to Growth economic development initiative through Rochester Area Economic Development Incorporated. She is the first candidate to launch a campaign for the city council position.
The official filing period for the November election opens on May 22nd.
