Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Southeastern Minnesota is facing a possible drenching this week.

The National Weather Service says it appears several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will affect the region Monday night into Wednesday night. Rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches are likely, with much higher amounts possible in isolated areas that are hit by prolonged storms.

The Weather Service also says strong to severe storms will also be possible Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, with flooding also possible into late week due to heavy rains.

For the Rochester area, this will be the first good soaking since August 23rd when the airport received nearly an inch of rain.
