Rochester Woman Accused of Leading Deputy on High-Speed Chase in Byron
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A Rochester woman was captured following a law enforcement pursuit in Byron.

A criminal complaint, filed in Olmsted County Court on Thursday says the incident began shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office responded to the report of an intoxicated woman driving a pickup at a gas station in Byron.
Rochester Woman Accused of Fleeing Olmsted County Deputy at High Speed in Byron
After speaking with a person at the store, the deputy suspected the driver was 43-year-old Stacey Ann McIntyre. The deputy later found McIntyre driving on 4th St. NW in Byron and began to follow her.
McIntyre was seen swerving into the opposite traffic lane without signaling and passed multiple vehicles, the complaint indicates.
After McIntyre passed a vehicle at an intersection, the deputy activated her squad vehicle’s emergency lights and McIntyre responded by accelerating, the complaint says.
McIntyre continued eastbound on 4th St. at an estimated speed of 70 mph. At one point she drove over the centerline and onto a sidewalk in front of a home in the 900 block of 4th St. NE, according to the complaint.
The Rochester woman continued through a roundabout at an estimated speed of 100mph before turning into a residential area where children were out playing and where pedestrians were present.
Due to public safety concerns, the deputy discontinued the pursuit, the charges say.
Fleeing Suspect Seen Trying to Enter Home
Shortly after the pursuit, the deputy saw McIntyre approach a home and exit the vehicle. The deputy told her to stop and took her into custody, according to the court document.
McIntyre showed signs of impairment by a controlled substance during the arrest, the complaint says. Law enforcement took a sample of her blood for testing at St. Mary’s Hospital.
McIntyre is charged with felony fleeing, gross misdemeanor DWI and reckless driving. She was released without bail following her first court appearance.
