Faribault, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Department of Transportation is reporting that northbound I-35 south of Faribault has reopened but traffic is moving slowly and motorists need to exercise extreme caution.

The latest reports indicate emergency responders are still at work along a stretch of the freeway where high winds from a thunderstorm contributed to numerous traffic crashes that included at least nine incidents involving semi-trucks being tipped over by wind gusts between Medford and Northfield. Officials have yet to indicate if there were any serious injuries.

The mess earlier prompted MnDOT to close the northbound lanes of the freeway and detour traffic from Medford to Faribault.
