
Minnesota Man Critically Injured in Crash With Semi That Shut Down Hwy. 52
Coates, MN (KROC-AM News)- A collision between a pickup truck and semi on Hwy. 52 resulted in severe injuries for a Minnesota man Wednesday morning.

The crash prompted a multi-hour closure of the highway’s southbound lanes. The State Patrol responded to the collision shortly before 7 a.m.
The drivers were the only occupants of the vehicles.

Bayport Man Suffers Critical Injuries in Collision Between Pickup and Semi in Hwy. 52 J-Turn Lane
The collision occurred at the J-turn intersection of Hwy. 52 and 200th St., which is about 12 miles north of Cannon Falls.
The pickup was traveling south when it drifted into the J-Turn lane that accesses northbound Hwy. 52.
The state crash report says the pickup collided with the back of a trailer being pulled by a semi that was stopped in the turn lane.
Pickup Driver Taken to Regions Hospital
41-year-old Eric Rudolph Rudd of Bayport was identified as the pickup driver. He was brought to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with life-threatening injuries, the State Patrol says.
32-year-old Joseph James Mowry was identified as the truck driver. The State Patrol says the Duluth man was not hurt.
Both drivers were buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash, according to the state crash report.
