Motorists south of Wykoff will be detoured Monday and Tuesday while Minnesota Department of Transportation maintenance crews remove and replace a culvert under the state highway.

Crews will be working to keep the detour only two days, but MnDOT says it is possible it could last longer depending on weather conditions and work-related complications.

The culvert's location is one-quarter of a mile north of the junction with Highway 16. Crews will close the road for two days. The culvert is in the northbound lane, but crews will need the southbound lane for equipment to complete the digging, removal, and replacement.

The detour during the work is Highway 16 east to Highway 52 north to Highway 80 west, which is just south of Fountain and will take motorists into Wykoff from the east.
