Human Remains Found Along Shore of Minnesota Lake, Arrest Made
Isle, MN (KROC-AM News)-Authorities in Mille Lacs County say a person of interest is in custody after the discovery of human remains along the shoreline of Mille Lacs Lake.

A news release from Sheriff Kyle Burton says Mille Lacs County highway workers found the remains inside of a tote that they initially tried to remove from a ditch along a rural road they were working on. The remains were discovered shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday along the southwestern shore of the lake.
Burton said Wednesday morning that investigators executed multiple search warrants at a mobile home near the body discovery site and at an apartment in Isle, which is on the southeastern end of the lake. Burton identified 21-year-old Bradley Weyaus of Isle, MN as a person of interest in the case.
Weyause was arrested on charges relating to four active arrest warrants against him. Once the investigation is complete, the sheriff’s office will forward its reports to the Mille Lacs County Attorney for review and a potential charging decision that could come as soon as the end of the week, Burton said.
The initial investigation indicates the murder was not a random act and that the victim and Weyaus were known to each other. The victim’s body has been sent to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office which will perform an autopsy and identify the victim, Burton said.
The murder investigation remains ongoing.
