ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Torii Hunter is in the Minnesota Twins lineup for Friday night's series opener at Texas after appealing his two-game suspension for an equipment-throwing outburst in his previous game.

Major League Baseball also fined him an undisclosed amount for his tantrum after being ejected from Wednesday's home game against Kansas City.

After being tossed for arguing a called third strike in the eighth inning, Hunter had to be restrained briefly. He then yanked off his elbow pad, shin guard and batting gloves and threw them toward the batter's box. Before retreating to the dugout, he ripped off his jersey and threw that.

The Twins lost that game 7-2, ending a 1-5 homestand that dropped them out of the AL Central lead.
