Busy Stretch of Hwy. 14 Through Rochester to be Detoured Starting Monday, Nov. 9
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A detour on Rochester’s "beltline" begins on Monday, November 9.
5-Day Detour Starts Monday, Nov. 9 for Both Directions of Hwy. 14 Through Southeast Rochester
Hwy. 14 is slated to close in both directions between South Broadway Ave. and 3rd Ave. SE at 5 a.m., according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

A news release says the closure is to accommodate a project to replace the railroad crossing that runs east of South Broadway Ave.
The Canadian Pacific Kansas City Railroad will be conducting the repair project.

Hwy. 14 motorists will be detourned south via South Broadway Ave. and 3rd Ave. SE. Vehicle traffic will move east-to-west on 16th St. SE.
The closure is scheduled to end on Friday, Nov. 13, weather permitting, the news release says.
MnDOT says the closure is happening this month to avoid a conflict with a project to reconstruct the Hwy. 14 and South Broadway Ave. intersection next year.
A proposed design of the intersection calls for significantly reducing the size of the medians between the two roads and the onramps for motorists making right turns onto Hwy. 14 and South Broadway.
