The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) says Hwy. 52 will close in both directions at the I-90 interchange starting on Monday.
The recently-completed flyover ramp connecting southbound Hwy. 52 with eastbound I-90 is included in the closure. The offramp from westbound I-90 to northbound Hwy. 52 will remain open, according to MnDOT.

During the closure crews will be removing the temporary bridge work on the I-90 westbound overpass, painting the bridge rails and beams, completing final pavement on northbound and southbound Highway 52, and installing temporary striping.
Detour Route
The southbound Hwy. 52 detour will direct drivers to I-90 via Hwy. 63 in Rochester. From there, they’ll enter westbound I-90 and exit at County Rd. 7, which will take them to Hwy. 52 north of Chatfield.
Northbound Hwy. 52 motorists will be directed to I-90 via County Rd. 7 then exit I-90 at Hwy. 52 exit. I-90 eastbound and westbound drivers seeking southbound Hwy. 52 will be detoured to the County Rd. 7 interchange.
Eastbound I-90 motorists looking for northbound Hwy. 52 can either get to it via Hwy. 63 northbound. The closure is scheduled to start at 1 a.m. on Monday. Hwy. 52 is set to reopen by 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
The $27.5 million project to transform the interchange is in its third and final year.
