Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester firefighters were called out to deal with an unusual situation Wednesday - an ice-making machine that had caught fire.

The call came in from the Guest House Inn and Suites at 435 16 Ave NW around 5:45 PM.

RFD says the machine was located in a vending room near the swimming pool area. An employee used an extinguisher to put the fire out but there was considerable smoke and guests were temporarily evacuated from that area as a precaution. One employee was evaluated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

RFD says the machine was destroyed and the cause of the fire is under investigation. The loss was put at $10,000
