After 10 Years, Iconic Minnesota Tree Will Light Up Once Again
I always love seeing Christmas light decorations during the holiday season. It's not only festive, but it also brings light to some of the darkest days of the year.
For many years, a tree along Highway 77 in Bloomington, Minnesota would light up from base to tip for the holiday season. Literally every inch of that tree was covered in white lights, and it was incredible!

Bloomington, MN Tree Lit Up with Lights
It became a tradition for people to stop by and see it up close for themselves. It was even part of a Christmas light tour at one point.
Here's a picture of my husband and me way back in the day when we went to visit the tree with some friends.

Sadly, a little over 10 years ago, the couple who owned the home and had lit up this huge oak tree for years sold the home and moved away. They had hoped the new owners would keep up the tradition, but unfortunately, the tree has been dark ever since.
Until now!
Bloomington, MN Tree Along 77 to Be Lit Up Again
The people who bought the home 10 years ago and have now turned it into an assisted living facility for 6 residents have decided to bring the tree back to life.
One of the owners, Marlena Hemenway, told WCCO that she showed some of the residents some of the pictures of the tree lit up in past years. They said, "'Wow, it's going to be a Christmas miracle.'"
They're hoping to get some financial help from people who are interested in donating to help get the tree lit up again. It is at least 40,000 lights we're talking about here! They already have two companies that have offered to hang the lights.
The tree will be lit up from December 7th through January 31st. The address for the house is 9145 Meadowview Rd in Bloomington. You'll be able to see the tree from a mile away!
