Influenza Now Blamed for Deaths of 6 Minnesota Children
St. Paul, MN(KROC AM News) - The State Health Department says another Minnesota child has died after contracting influenza.
It was the sixth pediatric flu-related death in Minnesota this season.
Overall flu activity remained classified as “local” last week, with 13 flu-related hospitalizations reported to the health department, eight probable flu outbreaks in Minnesota schools, and only one outbreak reported by a long-term care facility. The health department’s weekly update on flu activity also shows there was a significant drop in the percentage of people seeking care at Minnesota clinics with flu-like symptoms.
