Investigation Underway After Baby Dies at Minnesota Casino
That’s according to a news release issued Thursday evening by the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Office.
First responders in the southwestern Minnesota county were dispatched to the report of an unresponsive child Thursday morning.
The news release says the 911 call came from Prairie’s Edge Casino Resort in Granite Falls. It was placed around 6:30 a.m.
Members of the casino’s security staff, Upper Sioux Community Police Department and Granite Falls Ambulance were the first emergency responders to arrive at the scene and provided aid.
The life-saving measures were unsuccessful and the child was pronounced dead at the scene. The infant was one month old, according to the news release.
Authorities turned the baby over to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy. The Minnesota BCA responded to the scene to assist investigators.
No other information has been released.
