A recent story on ABC 6 News said Erdman's Country Market in Kasson has been sold to Hy-Vee Food Stores (based in Iowa, but darn near everywhere in Southeast Minnesota.

It's the grocery store that has been in town for 95 years and will see big changes. ABC 6 News obtained a copy of a letter to company shareholders confirming Erdman's has been sold. Hy-Vee Foods is taking over. (SOURCE)

The rest of the story talks about the takeover being in the works.
I reached out to Hy-Vee's corporate office to see what the timeline was and Hy-Vee's Director of Public Relations, Chirstina Gayman, APR said,

We are exploring Kasson for another retail location; however, the transaction is pending at this time.

So let's call this in the works, but not sold yet. When I asked when I should reach out again, Gayman said early August.

Speaking of towns just outside Rochester and selling businesses, Zumbrota Chrysler is being sold, too!

2 years ago, Steve Johnson, from Zumbrota Ford, opened a second dealership, Zumbrota Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram. It's been a beautiful bouncing baby dealership, and 24 months later, it's being sold to Bismark, ND based Eide Automotive.

I got in touch with Steve to find out more. (FYI - Steve Johnson is a client of Townsquare Media - Rochester)

JAMES RABE: Why now?

STEVE JOHNSON: I have been selling FORD for 48 years, it's in my blood. 2 stores does not make one twice as happy. I love my customers and I love being in ONE spot so I can see them, thank them, and be accessible to them. I want to go back to ONE store.
