Highway 57 Roundabout, Resurfacing Project Coming Near Mantorville
If you regularly travel Highway 57 just north of Mantorville, there’s a pretty significant road project coming your way.
MnDOT is planning to resurface a stretch of Highway 57 and build a new roundabout at the intersection with Dodge County Road 16 in the summer of 2027.
And while construction is still a ways off, MnDOT is holding a public meeting later this month to give people a chance to see what’s being planned, ask questions and get a better idea of how traffic will be handled.

Public meeting planned for Sept. 23
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Dodge County Administration Building, 721 North Main Street in Mantorville.
It will be held in Conference Room B, with access through the entrance on the south side of the building.

There won't be a formal presentation, so you don't have to show up right at 4:30. MnDOT says people can stop by anytime during the two-hour window to look over the plans and talk with the project team.
One of the things people will undoubtedly be interested in is the detour. MnDOT says a detour will likely be needed during construction, although the exact route is still being finalized.

What MnDOT is planning
The project will resurface Highway 57 from 9th Street in Mantorville to Dodge County Road 16.
The bigger change will be at the Highway 57 and County Road 16 intersection, where MnDOT plans to construct a new roundabout.

Drainage improvements are also part of the project.
MnDOT is currently working on the construction plans, which will include the traffic detour and other details. The cost of the project is $2.1 million.
