Signs have flipped recently at a store in the downtown area of Rochester, Minnesota from "For Lease" to "Open".

Back in April, I was walking around downtown Rochester near the Green-N-Fresh store at 20 1st Street SW in Rochester and noticed that everything was shut down.  This restaurant was a "healthier" option to eat in downtown Rochester and for those familiar with the Peace Plaza, this was in the old Mac's restaurant.

After some checking, it was confirmed that Green-N-Fresh had permanently closed and a "For Lease" sign was up in the window.

Unfortunately, this was a spot that most of us didn't have a chance to try since it was open for just a short amount of time.

If you missed out on it the first time, you are in luck because it appears that the lights are back on...but a new name has been added next to "Green-N-Fresh".

Peacock Books & Bistro Now Open in Downtown Rochester, Minnesota

If you love books...and fried chicken...there is a place you'll probably want to stop and check out in downtown Rochester.  The sign out front says "Green-N-Things" but the new place now goes by the name Peacock Books & Bistro.

According to a press release, this is a haven for all food and book lovers.  You can browse new and used books, enjoy gourmet handcrafted fudge and pastries, and enjoy a meal while you are enjoying the new(ish) space.

When I walked by the other day, there was a giant "Fried Chicken" sign out front.  Since 95% of Americans love fried chicken, myself included, I'm hoping this stays on the menu for a bit.

Books + Fudge + Fried Chicken = possibly the best idea ever.  Welcome to the neighborhood Peacock Books and Bistro!
