I can tell that Christmas is just around the corner because Scheel's has decorations up, my neighbors have their gorgeous lights wrapped around trees and turned on.  And, yes, there is news that a pretty famous radio station known as "Rochester's Christmas Station" had a few celebrities help flip to 24/7 Christmas.  This local radio station also has a chance to score a $1,000 shopping spree at the Mall of America along with some tickets to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra too! 

The biggest Christmas news though is that we now know when Santa is coming to town!

'Here Comes Santa Claus' Event Back For Its 50th Year in Rochester, Minnesota

The magic of Christmas is here!  85% of kids know that Santa is real and can't wait to show him their Christmas wish lists!  For kids in Southeast Minnesota, that holiday wish can come true on November 29th at the annual "Here Comes Santa Claus" event in Rochester, Minnesota.

For the past 50 years, Santa has been showing up in the Med City and always has one little hiccup when he arrives in town...he can't get off the roof of the building.  This could be the year where his reindeer land on a parking garage instead of Old City Hall.  If they miss...again...the Rochester Fire Department is ready to help.

Everything to Know About the "Here Comes Santa Claus" Event in Rochester, Minnesota

• When:  Friday, November 29th, 2024
• Time:  2 pm until 7 pm with the following events:
  • 2 pm - Mrs. Claus' Workshop at Historic Chateau Theatre for family-friendly games, activities, crafts, treats and story time with Mrs. Claus.
  • 4:30 pm - Here Comes Santa Claus rescue from the roof of the Residences of Old City Hall by the Rochester Fire Department
  • 5 pm - Tree lighting ceremony in the Peace Plaza.  This will also feature carols led by Bella Voce girls' choir.
  • 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm - photos with Santa Claus on the second floor of the Galleria at University Square
