Everyone in Minnesota knows that the housing market got pretty competitive recently.  Homes were getting multiple offers within hours of it being listed.  The market seems to have calmed down a bit and is a little bit more "normal" but we are still seeing some interesting properties for sale.  One property that just popped up though seems like it could be a steal for someone because the seller is only asking $5,000!  There's just one thing you need to do...

House for Sale in Southeast Minnesota is Just $5,000...Well, Kind of

Just a few days ago, a home in Byron, Minnesota showed up on Facebook Marketplace and when I saw the sales price of $5,000 I thought it had to be a typo.  Obviously, I can't tell much about the structure just from photos but it looks like a solid house and from the photos, there were a few updates that have happened.

Remember when I told you that if you buy this house, there is just one thing you need to do?  Well, according to the description, that "one" thing is a pretty big task.

Read the whole description!!! House for sale only to be MOVED off property! Buyer pays for all expenses to move the house, as well as $5,000 for the actual home. House needs some love, but not a complete gut job.

Yes, you can have the house for $5,000 BUT you need to have it moved and cover all of those expenses.

How much does it cost to move a house?

At one point in my life, I did have my REALTOR license but I never had to handle the move of a home.  I just helped people move INTO and OUT of homes.  I did a little research though because I was curious how much someone is going to have to spend to get this home physically moved to another location.  Thanks to Realtor.com, I found the following:

The total cost to move a house ranges from as little as $15,000 all the say to $200,000.

I know that range is pretty massive but the costs associated with moving a home depend on many different factors.  A few of those include the cost for the land where the home will be placed, the new foundation cost, and fees associated with moving power lines that are in the path of the move.

I don't have the magic ball to tell you what all of those added costs are but, this could be a great deal if you aren't needing to move the house very far!  If you are interested, go get a few bids to see what the actual costs might be for you.

Not every photo is scary though. Ok, the majority have something hiding. After you see a few of the photos of this house you might even start laughing.
See what happens!
