Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News)- A crash near the Interstate 90/Hwy/ 63 interchange sent a Fillmore County woman to the hospital on Tuesday.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash. The drivers were the only people involved. 

The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly before 3:30 p.m.

Spring Valley Woman Injured in Alcohol-Involved Crash Near I-90/Hwy. 63 Interchange Near Stewartville

A minivan and car collided on Hwy. 63 in northern Stewartville, south of the highway’s interchange with I-90. Both vehicles were traveling south when they made contact, the state crash report says. 

43-year-old Eric Joel Jensen of Tripoli, IA was identified as the minivan driver. He escaped the crash without injuries, the State Patrol says.

39-year-old Ashley Rose McConnell of Spring Valley was behind the wheel of the car. The State Patrol says she was taken to Olmsted Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jensen and McConnell were both buckled up. There was alcohol in McConnell’s system, according to the state crash report

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office, Stewartville Fire Department and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the crash.

The Kiwanis Holiday Light Display is free, but cash and non-perishable food donations are accepted. All money collected is given to area non-profits. Since opening in 2012 the event has raised nearly $800,000 for local charities.
