Here’s Why Celebrity Chef Alton Brown Is Coming to Rochester
I wrap up my day just like everyone else. Lying in bed, staring at my phone. I always end up scrolling through reels, and pretty much every night, an old dude with a super dry sense of humor and killer cooking tips pops on to my screen.
Confession time: I love his videos, but I had no idea that he was actually one of the most famous celebrity chefs in the world. I only recently learned how big of a deal he was when I found out he's going to be right here in Rochester.

Long before he was taking over my algorithm, Alton Brown was basically building modern food television.
The guy created and hosted Good Eats for 16 seasons, anchored Iron Chef America and Cutthroat Kitchen, hosted travel-food miniseries like Feasting on Asphalt, and wrote a mountain of best-selling books.
Shame on me for not knowing who he was. Brown is not only a big deal, he's a legend in the culinary world, and he's coming to Rochester.

An Evening of Alton Brown is headed to the CH Mayo Presentation Hall at the Mayo Civic Center on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available now for the unique event which will feature some great live demos, storytelling, and music.
The Civic Center's event page says, "Although he’s keeping the details under wraps, Brown has said that with An Evening of Alton Brown he’s “stirring up some twists on his greatest hits,” and “spicing things up with new demonstrations, music, and slightly scaled-down mayhem.” No matter what, An Evening of Alton Brown will present Brown as you’ve never seen him — unless, of course, you’ve been invited to his house."
