Not sure what your medicine cabinet looks like at your house in Minnesota but mine is a mess. I've tried to label and keep meds for colds in a different area than stomach issues but when you aren't feeling good, keeping meds organized isn't usually a top priority. This past year, we've had 3 surgeries, 2 concussions, vertigo, and broken bones, and with all of those comes some heavy-duty medications. A few of those bottles are still pretty full.

If you've got medication that you no longer need or what to get rid of, it is time to clean out your medicine cabinet and help keep our community safe. National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is coming up on Saturday, October 28th and this is the day where you can drop off your unneeded medications which overall will help prevent abuse, accidental overdose, or theft.
Everything You Need To Know About National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in Minnesota
Here are the medications and locations where you can drop off your unneeded medications:
- Date: Saturday, October 28th, 2023
- List of medications that can be dropped off during National Prescription Drug Take Back Day
- Prescription Drugs
- Over-the-counter medications
- Ointments, patches, creams, inhalers, and vials
- Pet medications
- Nonaerosol medications
- Liquid medications must be in the original container
- Vape pens and other e-cigarette devices are also accepted but batteries must be removed
- Where to drop off your unneeded medications on Saturday, October 28th
- Mayo Clinic's Gonda Building, west entrance/3rd Ave SW in Rochester, Minnesota. This will be a drive-thru where you can just hand over the unneeded medication.
- Olmsted County Sheriff and Drug Enforcement Administration officers will be handling the collection and disposal of the medications.
