Hey, remember those 60-degree days we had last week? Kind of wishing those were still around because these snowstorm predictions are getting out of hand.

We've been keeping you up to date on what might go down this weekend with the winter storm that's headed toward the Rochester, MN area. But the total amount of snow predicted just keeps going up!

The latest predictions that I'm seeing say we could see over 2 FEET of snow.

2 FEET!

How Much Snow is Rochester, MN Getting this Weekend?

Let's break down what we're seeing right now. I'm getting my predictions from The Weather Channel, by the way.

Saturday, March 14th during the day looks pretty decent: a high of 38, maybe some snow flurries here and there, but nothing crazy.

Saturday night is when we need to buckle up. Meteorologists are watching for a possible winter storm, and on Saturday night alone, they're saying we could get between 8 and 12 inches of snow.

But wait! There's more!

Then on Sunday during the day, they're predicting we could get 8 to 12 MORE inches of snow! Sunday night is when it'll finally start leaving us alone, but not until it drops 1 to 3 more inches.

Not cool, Mother Nature.

That means on the low end of their prediction, we could see 17 inches of snow, and on the high end, 27 inches of snow in one weekend. This weekend might break a record.

Record Snowfall in Rochester, MN in a 24-Hour Period

I needed to know if we have the possibility of breaking a record this weekend, because over 2 feet of snow in a weekend seems crazy.

From what I found, the most snow Rochester has gotten in a 24-hour period was 19.8 inches on March 18th, 2005. If these predictions hold up, we might smash that record.

If we take a look at my painful phases of spring in Minnesota, it looks like this weekend would put us in phase 5... of 10.
