Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Rochester Police Department Animal Control Unit is working to identify a person walking a dog that jumped up and bit a passing jogger.

A statement says the jogger discovered he had suffered two puncture wounds after he finished his run and the dog owner may not even be aware the incident occurred. The jogger indicated he was running in the 2500 block of Viola Road Northeast around 8:30 this morning when he came upon the white golden retriever or lab type dog. It was on a leash held by an approximately 40-year-old white man with very short blonde hair or possibly bald, wearing sunglasses and a yellow shirt. He was talking to a woman with brunette hair and a small black dog at the time.

Animal Control is asking the dog owner, witnesses, or anyone who might know the dog owner to contact the office at 507-328-6960.
