Rochester Fire Department Extinguishes Kitchen Fire at John Hardy's BBQ North Location

Upon arrival firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the roof line on the back side of the building.

Firefighters began attacking the fire from outside of the building and forced their way inside, where there was a heavy fire inside of the doorway.

Fire crews extinguished the main body of the fire and searched the building twice. Officials say no one was inside of the restaurant at the time of the fire.

The fire was mainly contained to the kitchen area of the restaurant, which suffered heavy fire and smoke damage, the fire department says.

No injuries were reported and the news release says the cause of the blaze is under investigation.

A post on the restaurant's Facebook page indicates they will be closed until further notice.

Rochester Public Utilities and Mayo Clinic Ambulance also responded to the restaurant fire.
