Judge Rules On Motion to Unseal Documents in Jodi Huisentruit Case
A judge ruled on Thursday that documents related to the Jodi Huisentruit case should be unsealed.
KCRG reports that Judge James Drew ruled that the application for a search warrant, the endorsement of a search warrant, the search warrant itself, and the return of the search warrant all may be unsealed. Drew stated that the documents "do not contain information that would compromise the investigation if made public." The affidavit filed in support of the Application of a Search Warrant will remain sealed.
KCRG reports that petitioners to unseal the warrant argued that the search warrant for GPS data from two vehicles that belonged to John Vansice would provide his family with closure since he was considered a person of interest. Vansice passed away last December in Arizona.
Will there be information revealed that could move the case forward? Experts don't believe it will. Voice of Alexandria reports that the affidavit filed supporting the search warrant application reveals sensitive information about the case including observations of the crime scene, objects found, and specific locations. That document will remain sealed.
KCRG reports that barring an appeal, the approved documents will be unsealed in 31 days.
