Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man is facing a possible prison sentence after being convicted of raping a Stewartville woman in her home last year.

An Olmsted County jury convicted 30-year-old Merwin Coleman of 1st-degree burglary and 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct Thursday. He will be sentenced in March.

Coleman was charged after the woman reported the assault last June.

The woman told investigators Coleman had given her boyfriend a ride to work while she was sleeping. The woman says Coleman returned while she was still in bed and sexually assaulted her. An investigator later contacted Coleman via phone. Coleman told the investigator the sex was consensual. He said he had given the woman some Xanax pills in exchange for sex.
