It's a project that Olmsted County Sheriff Kevin Torgerson has been pushing for, for quite a few years.  The memorial will honor those in southeastern Minnesota who have given their lives in the line of duty and will be paid for from private funds. It will be located in the area across Gibbs Drive in the northwest corner of the park.

Sheriff Torgerson talked with Rich Peterson and Kim David on Rochester's Good Morning Wednesday about the plan and what it may look like...

Torgerson expects the project to completed in about 3 to 5 years.
