The Legal Eagle made his monthly stop at KROC-AM Monday morning for the Rochester Today show with Andy Brownell.

David Shulman has been sharing his legal expertise with the KROC-AM audience for years with his stated goal of "parting the purple curtain" (reference to purple curtain between the U.S. Supreme Court room and the justices' offices).  The callers on Monday's show brought questions about obtaining a refund from an attorney, the responsibilities of being a person holding the Power of Attorney for another, and credit card fraud.

The caller seeking the refund was calling on behalf of his girlfriend, who paid an attorney $1,200 dollars to handle her second bankruptcy, but soon after she was told she could not file because not enough time had passed since her previous bankruptcy. Two years later, the attorney still had not returned any of the retainer even though the lawyer never had to perform the requested legal work.
