The criminal complaint indicates two other suspects are at large. The person captured following the theft made his first appearance in Mower County Court on Wednesday.
Deputies from the Mower County Sheriff’s Office responded to an ATM alarm around 3:20 AM on Jan. 11 at First State Bank in LeRoy, the Mower County Sheriff’s Office said.
Upon arrival, deputies learned a silver pick-up had been involved in the theft.
Camera footage showed two men prying open the outside casing of the ATM and using a chain to connect the cash machine to a truck. A third person is then seen driving forward and uprooting the ATM, the complaint says.

A responding deputy found and began following the suspect vehicle as it drove south out of LeRoy towards Iowa. The suspect vehicle overturned as it rounded a curve on a gravel road along the Minnesota-Iowa state line, the complaint says.
The deputy spotted a person crawling out of the upside down vehicle but was not able to tell if the person had fled north or was hiding behind the vehicle, the charges say.

Following the theft, law enforcement in Mitchell County, IA reported detaining a man seen walking in Stacyville, IA, which is about 20 miles southwest of LeRoy.
Mower County investigators identified the man as one of the three men seen on camera committing the theft, the complaint says.
The court filing identifies the man found in Iowa as 21-year-old Markell Deshawn Kinney. Kinney is facing felony counts of theft, receiving stolen property, property damage and fleeing.
He’s being held on $50,000 conditional bail and is due back in court next month. The court document indicates the ATM is worth more than $35,000. It does not list how much cash was stolen or provide a description of the two other suspects.
