Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Local law enforcement officials are sounding an alarm about a recent series of vehicle break-ins.

The Rochester Police Dept. and Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office have received several reports in the past week or so.

The sheriff’s office says at least four incidents were reported over the weekend. Two were at the dog park along West River Rd near Essex Park. The other two were parked at Chester Woods Park.

Two of the vehicles had been left unlocked while thieves broke windows in the other two to gain access. Purses and other items were reported stolen. In one incident, a person tried to use some checks that had been stolen but was unsuccessful.

Rochester police have received reports about vehicle break-ins at local fitness centers.
