Longtime Olmsted County Official Has Passed Away

A funeral Mass is scheduled Thursday morning for a long time former Olmsted County official. An obituary posted by Macken Funeral Home in Rochester says Bob Ryan was 89-years-old when he passed away last Friday.

Ryan began working for the County as a Deputy Assessor in 1967 and was elected County Treasurer in the late 1970s. He later became Olmsted County’s first ever Auditor/Treasurer after the County Board voted to combine the positions. He retired in 1999 after a 31-year career with the county government.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 pm in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and during the one hour preceding the funeral Mass at St. Pius Catholic Church, which begins at 11 am on Thursday.
