North Mankato, MN (KROC-AM News) - Prior to this week, the Lourdes High School girls softball program had never sent a team to the State Tournament and now the Eagles softball squad will be returning to Rochester with a State Championship trophy.

The 2nd seeded Lourdes squad defeated top-seeded Norwood-Young America 10-1 this afternoon to claim the 2019 Class 2A State Championship. Lourdes scored 7 of the team’s 10 runs in the third inning and Anna Taylor pitched the complete game for the win by allowing only one run on five hits and striking out nine Norwood-Young America batters.
