Last week, a blizzard hit Minnesota, dumping several inches of snow in Southeast Minnesota and up to a foot in the Twin Cities area. The dangerous conditions created by that storm led to numerous crashes and power outages that left thousands in the dark.

Temps quickly rebounded, and much of that snow has already melted, if not all of it.

Most of Minnesota will experience warm spring-like weather throughout the week. However, the National Weather Service is warning of another significant storm that will move through the central part of the U.S. on Friday, March 14th.

While we enjoy the warmth this upcoming week, a strong storm system looms on the horizon for the end of the week into next weekend for the central part of the country. -NWS

The National Weather Service in La Crosse says confidence is growing but it is still to early to determine the exact "threats" with suck a large "spread in the storm track.

The NWS team says, "heavy rain, strong winds, thunderstorms, and snow are all on the docket."

Meanwhile, Bring Me The News says the southern half of the state would most likely get rain while snow could fall up north, "Mostly rain and maybe some thunder for the southern half of the state, with northern areas potentially getting snow on the cold side of the system."
