Man Arrested as Suspect in Death of Missing Isanti Woman
Isanti, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Isanti County Sheriff’s Office is reporting an arrest has been made in connection with the death of a woman who was reported missing earlier this month.
Sheriff Chris Caulk says 37-year-old Richard Melvin Peterson of Isanti was taken into custody today after the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office officially ruled the death of 32-year-old Amanda Jo Vangrinsven a homicide.
The Isanti woman’s body was found last Tuesday on a rural property located about 4 miles from the Isanti VFW Club. The night she went missing, Vangrinsven was working at the bar before she left with a man and visited another bar in nearby Bethel. The next morning, her vehicle was found in the parking lot of the VFW Club.
The search warrant filed by investigators seeking access to the property where her body was found lists Peterson as the owner. The court document also states Vangrinsven had been shot in the head.
