A Rochester man had to be tased by police after he allegedly assaulted an ex-girlfriend early Saturday.

A spokesman says Rochester Police officers were sent to an apartment building along Northern Hills Drive around 2:30 in the morning and found 45-year-old Tracy Brooks attacking the woman by striking her and kicking her in the head. He fled from the apartment by breaking a window, and while the officers were pursuing him, Brooks circled around and came back to the apartment where the officers found him standing over the victim with a knife. That’s when the taser was employed to subdue Brooks, who is expected to face felony assault charges.

The woman was taken to the hospital, but there’s no information available about her condition.
