Windom, MN (KROC-AM News)- A two-vehicle crash at an intersection in rural western Minnesota claimed the life of a Windom man and resulted in injuries for the pair of drivers.

The State Patrol’s crash report indicates a 15-year-old driver was traveling west on Hwy. 62 when the hatchback she was driving collided with an eastbound pick-up truck that was slowing at an intersection west of Windom around 12:30 p.m. Monday. The passenger in the hatchback, identified as 54-year-old Henry Nyandwaki, was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.

The report identifies the teen driver as Elizabeth Ngisa of Windom, MN. She was brought to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The pick-up driver, identified as 37-year-old Scott Runck of Avoca, MN, was also hospitalized with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries. 

The report says investigators do not know if any of the three people involved in the deadly wreck were buckled up. Alcohol has been ruled out as a contributing factor to the crash.
