Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a Rochester woman who is accused of shooting a man in the face during a drug-fueled sexual encounter.

The warrant states that a Rochester Police officer, working as a Hospital Resource Officer on October 27, 2024, was informed of a patient suffering from a gunshot wound behind the lower jaw. The court document says the victim told the officer he did not remember the incident and did not want to talk to the police.

The Charges Allege the Woman Consumed "a Large Amount of Cocaine During the Encounter."

The criminal complaint indicates an investigator later learned that .22 caliber bullet fragments had been removed from the man's face.

According to the arrest warrant, the shooting victim agreed to speak to officers earlier this month and described how he had been shot by 29-year-old Emina Sabackic. He told investigators that he and Sabackic were having sex and she was providing him with drugs.

The court document says the man described how Sabackic consumed "a large amount of cocaine during the encounter" and then became upset, claiming someone had lost or taken her drugs. The victim says that's when she allegedly took out a revolver and struck him in the face with a gun. He told police there was a "pop" and he began "bleeding a lot."

The criminal complaint also says the victim stated that Sabackic, after informing him that she had just shot him in the face, offered him drugs for free and offered to remove the bullet fragments. She is charged with second-degree assault and illegal possession of a firearm.

In a separate criminal complaint filed in Olmsted County Court in early March, Sabackic was charged with illegal possession of any firearms/ammunition by a person convicted of a crime of violence. The felony charge stems from a shooting in late November of last year during which Sabackic suffered a gunshot wound to her lower body.

The court document says she told police that she had been shot by one or two males at a location in northwest Rochester. She also stated that she remembered picking up a gun that had fallen to the ground and that her DNA would be found on the weapon. A semi-automatic handgun that was reported stolen in Minneapolis was found at the scene.

The criminal complaint says a witness told investigators that Sabackic had purchased the gun from a juvenile living in southeast Rochester and was in possession of the firearm that was used in the shooting three days before it occurred.

Police Believed She Has Fled the Country

Her conditional bail in that case was set at $75,000. She posted a bond and was released from custody in late March. The arrest warrant issued for her on Friday indicates Rochester Police received information that Sabackic left the country on April 8 and flew to Dublin, Ireland. Her final destination and current whereabouts are unknown.
