Conger, MN (KROC AM News) - A man survived a 70-foot fall inside a Freeborn County grain bin.

Freeborn County Sheriff Kurt Freitag says first responders were sent to the Northern Country Co-Op in Conger around 9:30 AM Friday.

Freitag says 60-year-old Charles Majerus of Alden was doing some work in the upper portion of the bin when he fell. Fortunately, his fall was cushioned by a three-foot pile of beans at the bottom of the bin.

Freitag says rescue personnel removed Majerus from the bin and he was transported to Rochester St. Mary’s Hospital by Mayo One. He was reported in fair condition Friday.

Freitag says a prelimination investigation found the structure Majerus was standing on broke.
