Man Wanted for Attempted Murder Arrested on Southern Minnesota Campus
A news release issued by the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office says the arrest happened on Tuesday. The arrest warrant was issued by authorities in Ramsey County.
The news release says members of the Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville Drug Task Force and the Marshall Police Department apprehended 20-year-old Tyrese Alonzo Johnson on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.
Southwest Minnesota State Public Safety also assisted with Johnson’s arrest, the news release says.
Johnson is wanted in Ramsey County for second-degree attempted murder. He also has an active arrest warrant for felony fifth-degree drug possession in Scott County.
Jail records indicate Johnson was brought to the Scott County Jail where he was booked shortly after 12 p.m. Wednesday. Ramsey County Court records indicate Johnson was charged with attempted murder in connection to an alleged shooting at an occupied vehicle in St. Paul this past April.
