Man & Woman Escape Reported Stewartville Knife Threat Through Window
Stewartville, MN (KROC-AM News)- The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Stewartville man in connection with a reported knife threat Tuesday morning.
Lt. Malinda Hanson said deputies responded to the report of a disorderly conduct call involving a knife at a shared residence in the 700 block of Reichels Cr. Northeast shortly before noon. The parties involved in the call had been separated by the time deputies arrived at the scene.
Hanson said the victims, described as a 24-year-old woman and 31-year-old man, told deputies 30-year-old Micheal Brett Judy had brandished a knife towards them after a dispute inside of the residence. The man and woman said they climbed out of a bedroom window and got into separate vehicles when Judy emerged from the house and again allegedly threatened the two with a knife.
Hanson said Judy was arrested and brought to the Olmsted County Jail in Rochester after deputies took statements from the victims. She said authorities recovered a knife at the scene that matched a description of the knife the victims reported being threatened with.
No injuries were reported. Hanson said the sheriff’s office is referring two charges of felony second-degree assault, two charges of felony domestic assault and a misdemeanor count of domestic assault-fear against Judy to the Olmsted County Attorney.
Court records indicate Judy was convicted of felony domestic assault in Olmsted County in 2021 and in St. Louis County in 2016. He was also convicted of two felony weapons counts and felony property damage in an Olmsted County shooting in 2012.
Judy’s first court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
