MANKATO, Minn. (AP) — Mankato police suspect a drug sold in blue packages with gold or silver crowns is responsible for the deaths of two people.

One of the packages was found last Wednesday at a house where a 22-year-old man died. The Free Press reports a second package was found Saturday at a house owned by the mother of a 17-year-old girl who was taken off life support Monday.

Public Safety Director Todd Miller says investigators aren't positive about a connection but suspect the drug in the packages could have caused the deaths.Iinvestigators believe the bags contained a synthetic drug commonly called "2-C." And he says there may be more of the potentially deadly drug out there.

Miller asked anyone with information about the drug or the packages to call police.
