Mark Your Calendar: Pink Bag Event Returns to Apache Mall for Breast Cancer Awareness

2020 was a year that our community will never forget.  For me, the memories of that year are more than just the pandemic.  Five people I was close with were told, "You have breast cancer"...including my mom.

Every year in Minnesota, there are about 4,800 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed among women.

My mom called me on a cold, February day in 2020, and I could hear in her voice that something was wrong.  She tore her Achilles tendon and needed surgery, but before that could happen, she had to have a pre-surgical physical.  It was time for her mammogram as well, so that was one of the sets of images they took prior to surgery.

That specific mammogram saved my mom's life.

During the month of October, our world turns pink to show support for all who have heard the words "breast cancer".  And one special event in Rochester, Minnesota, is providing that for all of us...and has some amazing swag for breast cancer survivors!

The 2nd Annual Pink Bag event is back at the Apache Mall in 2025!  United Breast Cancer Foundation and Olmsted Medical Breast Clinic have partnered with Brookfield Properties for this uplifting event at the Apache Mall.

Everything You Need To Know about the Pink Bag Event in Rochester, Minnesota

WHEN: Saturday, October 11th, 2025

TIME: 11:00 am until 3:00 pm

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Complimentary yoga class by 125 Live
• Hear uplifting breast cancer survivor stories from Rochester locals at 1:00 pm
• Visit with area partners, including Rochester Chevrolet, Mayo Clinic, American Cancer Society, Join the Journey, and Breast Cancer Support Network.
• Breast cancer survivors have an opportunity to receive one of the free Pink Bags (while supplies last). To receive a bag, you must register by contacting Nicole Ross at nross1208@gmail.com
