Mayo Clinic Unveils Name for New Downtown Rochester Entrance
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The new entrance to Mayo Clinic's campus in downtown Rochester is being named to recognize a gift from the Penske Foundation to support the Rochester-based healthcare provider's Bold. Forward. Unbound. initiative.
New Mayo Clinic Entrance Named for Penske Foundation
Mayo Clinic announced today that the new 15,000-square-foot building will be known as the Penske Arrival Building and will serve as a gateway to the sprawling downtown campus. A news release says Mayo Clinic "designed the building to make arrival and departure an extension of care — integrating transportation, navigation, hospitality and human support to reduce logistical burdens so patients and families can focus on their health and one another."
New Gateway to Mayo's Downtown Campus
"The Penske Foundation is proud to support Mayo Clinic and its vision for transforming the patient experience. The Penske Arrival Building represents an important part of that vision by making the arrival experience easier and more welcoming for patients and their families," says Blair Penske Hall, president of the Penske Foundation. "We are honored to continue our long-standing partnership with Mayo Clinic and support its commitment to putting patients at the center of everything it does."
Penske Arrival Building to Open in October
The news release indicates the new Penske Arrival Building will become operational on October 8 with valet and drop-off service. A new 500-space parking ramp for Mayo Clinic patients is scheduled to open in April of next year.
