Rochester Mayor Ardell Brede spent much of the hour talking about the Destination Medical Center Comprehensive Development Plan during his regular appearance with Andy Brownell during the Rochester Today show on KROC-AM Friday morning.

The mayor, as a member of the Destination Medical Center Corporation Board, had a front row seat last week as a team of consultants presented their proposal for transforming downtown Rochester as part of a plan to make the city a world-class destination for those seeking medical care. Brede indicated the consultants paid a great deal of attention to an area of the downtown they have named the "Heart of the City," which incorporates the existing Peace Plaza.

Brede noted the consultants took pains to make sure everyone was aware the Chateau Theater is included in the plan, although it's future remains uncertain with Barnes and Nobles moving out of the historic building in a matter of weeks. You can hear the mayor's comments about the Chateau in the above YouTube clip.
