UNDATED (AP) — Fourth-ranked Michigan State has capped a 13-1 season by earning its first Rose Bowl victory in 26 years.

Connor Cook threw for a career-high 332 yards and two touchdowns as the Spartans rallied to beat fifth-ranked Stanford 24-20. Cook hit Tony Lippett for a 25-yard touchdown to break a 17-17 tie early in the final period. Jeremy Langford ran for 84 yards and a TD for the Big Ten champs, who trailed 10-0 after one quarter before getting their 10th straight win and dropping Stanford to 11-3.

The Cardinal couldn't score an offensive touchdown after Tyler Gaffney ran for a 16-yard score on Stanford's first series. Kevin Anderson returned an interception 40 yards for a score late in the second quarter, but Stanford's offense sputtered in the second half.

Connor Shaw had a hand in all five of South Carolina's touchdowns today as the eighth-ranked Gamecocks downed No. 19 Wisconsin 34-24 in the Capital One Bowl at Orlando. Shaw's third touchdown pass of the afternoon gave South Carolina a 27-17 lead early in the fourth quarter, and he capped the scoring with a one-yard TD run. Shaw also caught a scoring pass from Bruce Ellington, who had six receptions for 140 yards and two touchdowns.

The Badgers fell to 9-4 despite rolling up 293 rushing yards on the SEC's second-best rushing defense.

In other New Year's Day Bowls:

— No. 14 LSU was a 21-14 winner over Iowa in the Outback Bowl in Tampa. Jeremy Hill rushed for 216 yards and two touchdowns, and Craig Loston's fourth-quarter interception stopped a potential game-tying drive by the Hawkeyes.

— Tommy Armstrong Jr. connected with Quincy Enunwa for two touchdowns as Nebraska earned a victory in its 50th bowl game, beating 23rd-ranked Georgia 24-19. Armstrong and Enunwa hooked up for a 99-yard TD that put the Cornhuskers ahead 24-12. The Bulldogs moved inside the 25-yard line seven times but settled for four field goals.

— North Texas won the Heart of Dallas Bowl game as Derek Thompson threw for 256 yards and two touchdowns against UNLV. Brelan Chancellor scored twice in the 36-14 victory. The win came in the Mean Green's first postseason appearance in nine years. The win was the ninth in 13 games for North Texas while UNLV dropped to 7-6.
